There have been big changes at Silver Chilli!

The move from Cornwall to Wiltshire in mid 2024 opened up new possibilities as well as new challenges.

Understanding that we could no longer grow all of our ingredients ourselves we began our search for the right supplier, a chilli grower who had the same ethos and dedication to the care of both the plants and their environment.

We were introduced to ‘Uncle Paul’s Chilli Charity’

On visiting the farm in Somerset I was amazed at the good work they do. Jay explained that they are a non-profit charity working for the betterment, wellbeing and health of the disadvantaged and those with physical or learning disabilities and that every penny I spend on buying their excellent chillies goes into the work they do to fund their program.

Uncle Paul’s makes up 50% of chillies used to make our relishes with the remainder still home grown.

Silver Chilli Awards

2024 continues our run of accolades here at Silver Chilli with a ‘Taste of the West’ Silver Award for our sumptuous Chocolate Habanero Relish.

We strive to be one of the best Relish makers in the UK and constantly work on new recipes, tweaks to existing recipes, branding, our ecological footprint and of course, to listen to our customers.

We are currently awaiting the results of the 2025 ‘National Chilli Awards’ for our gorgeously bright Aji Lemon relish.

We add the above to three Gold medals from both Taste of the West and National Chilli Awards over the two previous years before approaching the 2025 judging season.

Besides the regular recipes we will be concocting some delicious new relishes this year!

We have two totally new Hot Sauces: ‘Quicksilver’ at approx. 300,000 SHU and a mindbending 2’000,000 SHU+ from ‘Promethium’!

Besides the sauces, a long-term development has eventually been finished: ‘Piccachillililli’ is a perfect Piccalilli with added Fatalii Chillies.

‘Red Wolf’. It is a ‘Chinense’ variety, 300,000 SHU with a deeply fruity palate with hints of apple & raisin. On the bush it begins a lustrous purple before turning dark red.

Other relishes we are making this year are Fatali, Ghost, Fresno and Primotalli (a whopping 2.2m SHU chilli).

We are planning a new page on our website this year of both yours and our recipes using our relishes so if you have concocted any amazing dishes you would like to share please email us with an image and the recipe. Once we have enough we will set a page up.
